HEALTH & SAFETY ADVISOR - MODULAR CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR - DUBLIN

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a fast track modular construction contractor
specialising in the healthcare, education, industry, construction and
leisure industries.

Due to continued expansion, our client are seeking to appoint a
qualified health and safety advisor to join the team

Reporting directly to the company Health and Safety Manager, the role
will involve:

Providing H&S support to the site management teams and production
facilities.

Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed, monitoring of
compliance with Company and Site EH&S requirements.

Keeping up to date with changes in EHS legislation and construction
industry guidance.

Assisting in maintenance of the EHS Management Systems to ensure
continued compliance at all times.

Ensuring all safety and environmental records are kept and readily
available.

Completing EHS inspections and audits. Ensuring standards are
maintained and that any remedial actions raised are being addressed by
relevant Managers.

Identifying significant risks for work areas and helping establish
appropriate controls.

Monitoring of contractor’s health and safety performance, ensuring
their H&S documentation is sufficient (e.g. assisting in reviewing
High-risk RA/MS, etc).

Reviewing statutory inspections to ensure that minimum legal
requirements are being met.

Participating in meetings - such as site H&S, safety committee, High
Risk workshops, etc.

Promoting all health and safety initiatives and hazard reporting
schemes.

Leading accident and near miss investigations, report writing and
follow-up on corrective actions.

Provision of internal health and safety training, e.g. manual
handling, abrasive wheels, toolbox talks.

Working with site and production teams to ensure that the necessary
documentation is in place, e.g. Construction Phase Plans, Traffic
Management Plans, Emergency Response Plans, SWMP, etc.

Providing EHS statistics.

Occupational health and hygiene compliance, e.g. DSE, dust, noise,
vibration, mental health, drugs and alcohol, return to work, etc.

Ensuring emergency drills are completed at all locations and that any
corrective action is implemented

Ensuring method statements and risk assessments are in place.

Completing permits and daily SPAs/ Completing weekly safety returns as
required by client.

REQUIREMENTS

Diploma in H&S, formal environmental qualification/ Certificate in H&S
(e.g. UCD, NEBOSH, BSC) & Occupational First Aid

Membership of Professional H&S body (IOSH or Equivalent)

Trained as manual handling instructor, scaffold inspector, Temporary
Works.

2 year in a similar role, previous experience in construction industry
is preferable.

Candidate must be proactive and self- motivated, with excellent
interpersonal skills, demonstrating a positive, enthusiastic and
approachable manner.
